I ended up doing this really late and almost decided to just not do the cake until the next day, but when I saw how excited he was about it all it made it all worth it. How on earth did he get to be three? 
Opening presents...Incredibles...yea!
A few days before his birthday he randomly tells me that he wants a 'big blue basketball cake.' I think his cake was one of the things he was looking forward to the most. So, as you can see I have skills that I wasn't even aware of. I am now looking into starting my own cake business. Look at that beauty! You can't tell in the picture but it is completely lopsided. When Brian saw it he said, "What is that?" I told him Bode knew what it was and loved it so who cares. It was pretty bad though.
My little, actually big, sweet tooth had two whole cupcakes right then and there, then he went on to take a bite out of the top of his beautiful cake.
We got him a tee-ball which we thought he would be so excited about, however, he made us take the tee out because he wanted home plate by iteslf. He can hit the ball when we pitch it most of the time but thought he might enjoy the help...NOPE. What were we thinking?
Max was excited also, he loves balloons! Actually Max is always excited!Later that day we went to a Flash game. Before the game the Provo firefighters played the Orem Police in basketball and then they had dinner. In between games the Flash players were practicing down on the court while Bode was running around with some of the kids and I was trying to rock Max to sleep and Beez ran to the restroom. All of a sudden we hear this over the intercom, "Will the parents of Bode Roberts please come pick your lost son up at the scoring table." I started laughing so hard. This is 'classic Bode.' He had been trying to go down to the court with the players for awhile and had finally made it down. I ran down to take pictures while Beez went to go get him.
My three boys!!!The next two days we had two different birthday dinner/desserts with each of our families.
(Bode wouldn't take off his Flash jersey for a few days)
Happy Birthday Bode!!! We love you more than you will ever know buddy! You are so much fun right now! You are growing up too fast and I better not blink so I won't miss your fourth year of life.

Looks like Bode had a great birthday! He is so fun and he is getting so big! Your cake looks great I'm sure bode was so excited, that's all he could talk about when I visited last! :)
what a fun story. Sounds like you have lots of fun times with Bode!
I CAN NOT believe that he is three already! Where does the time go? We miss you guys so much and hope that we can see you soon!

I think the cake is awesome! Good job on the last minute decision he made :). What a fun day for Bode. I love that you decorated. I'll have to do that for my kids too.
